Under 7's Blacks squad win Castrol Tournament.



How often do you loose your first 2 games in a tournament and still go on to win it. "Not very often I hear you say!!". Well these boys did. Two 1 - 0 defeats including one at the hands of our own Oranges squad. Did the boys let their heads drop? Not a bit of it - this squad has spirit!!! Next 4 games saw 13 goals scored and none conceded and was good enough to get us into the semis. Next problem... we then had to play Hawarden who up to that point were undefeated all day. A fantastic display by every boy in the team saw us take the game into extra time during which it was us who grabbed the Golden Goal. A 2 - 0 victory over Princes Villa in the final saw us lift the Shield. The goals on the day were shared between McIvor, Dean, Kitchen, George, Rietbrock and Lawrenson with valuable contributions also coming in the form of defensive duties from Kenny and Holland and tireless running in attack from Caskey. All boys did themselves proud.

A special thanks must also go to the boys, parents and coaches from the Oranges Squad who despite loosing in the other semi stayed and gave us magnificent support in the final. I'm sure we'll be able to return the gesture in the future.

Buckley Town Tournament 1 June 2005

The Blacks squad with their runners up trophies from the Buckley Town under 7s tournament. A fantastic day was had by all. We made it to the final without conceding a goal in 7 games, form which we continued in the final which we drew 0 - 0. We unfortunately lost out 3 - 2 on penalties. Congratulations to all the boys. Well done!!
