Dear Parents,
I have been secretary
of the West Kirby Wasps Pre-league football club for the past six years.
As my son is now an Under 12, I have decided that it is time for me to
move over and let someone else take the helm. I am very proud of
all the club has achieved over the past six years, recently achieving
Charter Standard Development Club status. There are over 120 children
registered in the four age groups from Under 6 through to Under 9, with
waiting lists for each one. There are enough players to register teams
in both the Ellesmere Port mini soccer league and the Wirral mini soccer
league..
The West Kirby Wasps
has gained an excellent reputation across Wirral, and indeed throughout
the North West, and is held in high esteem by the Cheshire County F.A.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as secretary, seeing the club go from
strength to strength, and it goes without saying that I will give as much
support as I can during the handover process and beyond, where necessary.
May I take this opportunity
to thank all those who volunteer their time every week to ensure the smooth
running of the club, and to all the players for their exemplary behaviour.
I have enclosed a brief job description and will gladly discuss this with
any prospective candidates. The role of secretary is a vital one, and
the position will need to be filled as soon as possible.

your manager and coaches in informal surroundings and ask all those questions
to which you have always wanted to know the answer. There is currently

PRESENTATION DAY/COLOUR SQUADS
11.00 a.m. Saturday 20th.May 2006. Hilbre High School, Frankby Road
Presentation day and the colour squad’s tournament this year will be themed
along the lines of the World Cup. As usual, we will combine the 6’s &
7’s and the 8’s & 9’s into equal ability squads, therefore it is important
that as many children attend as possible. We will then give them a team
name of a country in the cup. All games, including the final will be played
on one afternoon. The awards ceremony will take place at the conclusion
of the tournament. In order to make this a fun occasion it is our intention
to have events such as a bouncy castle, tombola, food, raffle and a new
and used sports goods stall. This event will of course entail a lot of
organisation, and so anyone wishing to volunteer his or her services on
the day should contact me directly. Raffle prizes would be gratefully
appreciated.
You will be able to purchase a programme with the team T-Shirt for each
player on the day. Cost to be confirmed.
ADULTS SUMMER BASH
8.00 p.m. Saturday 20th. May 2006. The Heatherlands
We have decided this year to have a" Summer Do" instead of a"
Christmas Do". It will be for all parents and friends of the
Wasps, and held on the evening of Presentation Day, so please leave the
entire day/evening free to support your club. There will be live music
and a buffet. Tickets will be on sale shortly from you age group manager.

DISCIPLINE

WELCOME
Welcome to another season
with the West Kirby Wasps Football Club. It is pleasing to note that all
teams got off to a good start to the season. This season you will find
the Under 6’s and Under 8’s playing at Ashton Park, and the Under 7’s
and Under 9’s playing at Greenbank Road. This year, as last, we entered
teams into the Wirral Mini Soccer League and the Ellesmere Port Mini Soccer
League. As a Charter Standard Development Club, may I remind you all,
that we expect the highest standard of behaviour both on the pitch and
on the sidelines. The Wasps has an excellent reputation, and as the Cheshire
County F.A. are clamping down on discipline, we would like to keep
it that way. May I take this opportunity in wishing you all good luck
for the remainder of the season.
